El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Colombia rechaza las declaraciones ofensivas y desobligantes al Presidente de los colombianos, Gustavo Petro Urrego, y la amenaza directa contra la soberanía nacional hecha por el Presidente de los Estados Unidos Donald Trump, emitida por la Casa Blanca, en la que acusa sin fundamento alguno al Presidente colombiano.
Estas acusaciones constituyen un acto de la mayor gravedad y van en contra de la dignidad del Presidente de los colombianos, quien ha liderado y combatido de manera incansable el narcotráfico en nuestro país, logrando, en sus años de gobierno, las mayores incautaciones de drogas ilícitas jamás logradas en la historia reciente, además de impulsar una lucha orientada a erradicar de manera integral el flagelo de la droga en toda la región.
La comunicación referida contiene una amenaza directa a la soberanía nacional al plantear una intervención ilegal en territorio colombiano, un país que ha sido históricamente un aliado valioso en la lucha contra las drogas en la región y en el mundo. Dichos planteamientos transgreden todas las normas del Derecho Internacional y la diplomacia, y en especial los tratados internacionales que protegen la soberanía, la independencia y la autodeterminación de los países.
Como Gobierno de Colombia, rechazamos enérgicamente estos pronunciamientos y acudiremos a todas las instancias internacionales en defensa de nuestra soberanía como Estado y la dignidad de nuestro presidente, quien siempre se ha caracterizado por su respeto a las instancias democráticas y su lucha frontal contra el narcotráfico.
Igualmente, rechazamos el uso de la cooperación internacional como instrumento de injerencia en los asuntos internos de Colombia. Sin la cooperación ganarán las organizaciones transnacionales dedicadas a la producción y comercialización de narcóticos y perderá toda la región.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia rejects the offensive and disrespectful statements made against the President of the Colombians, Gustavo Petro Urrego, and the direct threat against Colombia’s national sovereignty issued by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, through the White House, in which he baselessly accuses the Colombian President.
These accusations constitute an act of the utmost seriousness and go against the dignity of the President of the Colombians, who has led and tirelessly fought against drug trafficking in our country. He has achieved, during his years as a President, the highest seizures of illicit drugs ever recorded in recent history, in addition to promoting a comprehensive effort to eradicate the scourge of drugs throughout the region.
The aforementioned statements contain a direct threat to national sovereignty by proposing an illegal intervention in Colombian territory —a country that has historically been a valuable ally in the fight against drugs in the region and the world. Such statements violate all norms of International Law and diplomacy, particularly the international treaties that safeguard the sovereignty, independence, and self-determination of nations.
As the Government of Colombia, we strongly reject these pronouncements and will turn to all international bodies in defense of our sovereignty as a State and the dignity of our President, who has always been characterized by his respect for democratic institutions and his unwavering fight against drug trafficking.
Likewise, we reject the use of international cooperation as an instrument of interference in Colombia’s internal affairs. Without cooperation, transnational organizations dedicated to the production and commercialization of narcotics will benefit, and the entire region will suffer the consequences.
